On the Celeb Makeup Front

Makeup and celebrities go together like me and wine. The connection between the two is always evolving but never wavering.  From being the face of the line to actually developing their own makeup.  Even with the welcome rise of YOU-lebrity (Glossier, anyone?), cosmetic companies will still be a medium for bringing us access to celebs. You know, by way of lipstick. Or in the case of MAC’s most recent collab with actress Taraji Henson, by way of highlighter. With anything, though, its success lies in its authenticity. Back to Cool

Forget that I haven’t been a student for a while, that back to school energy seeps out to the masses. And I’m not just talking the hundreds of “first day of…” photos on Facebook. I’m not saying anything except I saw them…we all saw them.  Those sweet familiar looks of hope and excitement on a kid’s face on a year that is unwritten. A backpack with no scuffs. Clean sneakers. Living Like We’re Renegades

Short weeks feel especially long after you’ve been on vacation the previous two. I’m welcoming this Friday with open arms. This week was pretty awesome, though. I met Taraji Henson at the Michigan Ave MAC store this week when she launched her collection.  There was also the RHONY reunion and I updated my DVR for all of the upcoming fall shows. Yes, my name is Laurie and I watch a lot of TV.
